Holiday Gift Drive 2012

Old NavyAwakenings held a Holiday gift drive in December of 2012 to provide homeless youths, students, and families in need all over the Las Vegas valley with gifts and food to celebrate the holiday season.

Old Navy Best of the West, Henderson and the Boulevard Mall all participated by sponsoring families and provided clothing and toys.

Each of their staff’s donated their own time and money for our cause. What a wonderful and generous group of people!

We held a putting and hole in one contest at 90 Degree’s Golf to collect cash and clothing donations.

We had several generous donors provide us with cash donations to purchase gift cards and presents that were wrapped and delivered.

Awakenings was able the-pointto provide 300 warm hoodies and $10.00 McDonald gift cards to 300 high school students at Clark, Valley, Rancho and Cimmeran High Schools as Christmas gifts.

Awakenings also provided wrapped clothing and toys to Safe Nest, Shade Tree, students and families from the Clark County Southern Nevada Community College and Hospice of Nevada. We also provided Covenant of Love with pajamas, housecoats, slippers, socks and underwear and other items to over 150 men woman and children.

There were numerous other families in need all over the valley this year and the calls for help kept coming. Thanks to the Awakenings staff and volunteers food, gift cards and wrapped presents were provided all over the valley all the way up to midnight on Christmas Eve.

Thank you Las Vegas for caring about the people in our community!
